The 16-digit electronic code is known as a JAMB e-PIN, or Electronic Personal Identification Number, is a special prepaid voucher needed to register for the Direct Entry (DE) or Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) administered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

First, Obtain Your NIN

Haven got your NIN, now you need to get a profile code that will be used in buying the JAMB PIN.

If you have not gotten your profile code, use the method below to generate a profile code for yourself:

SMS ‘NIN’, space, and your 11-digit NIN number to 55019 using any network provider of your choice.

That is, open your phone and head over to message, open the messaging app and compose a new SMS. Write NIN space and your 11-digit NIN number, then send the SMS to 55019. For example, send NIN 91236544419 to 55019.

After sending the message to 55019, you will receive an SMS response with a  10-digit profile code and your name as it appears on your  NIN slip.

Proceed To Buy the JAMB PIN Online

1. Bank Payment: Go to an approved bank with your Profile Code, pay the fee (~₦3,500), and receive your ePIN receipt.
2. Online Payment: Visit JAMB’s website or an approved platform, enter your Profile Code, pay online, and get the ePIN via email or SMS.
3. USSD Payment: Dial *55019# or *66019#, follow prompts to pay with airtime or linked account, and receive the ePIN via SMS.
4. Mobile Apps: Use an approved payment app, enter your Profile Code, pay, and receive your ePIN instantly.
5. Accredited CBT Centers: Visit a JAMB-accredited center, provide your Profile Code, make payment, and collect your printed ePIN.

Receive Your JAMB e-PIN

On the page that appears after step 3, enter the 10-digit profile code you received via SMS and make payment using either bank transfer or online payment using your ATM card. Your JAMB e-PIN will immediately be sent to your Phone number and also sent to your email address.
