JAMB Registration Requirements For 2026/2027
National Identification Number (NIN)
JAMB requires all candidates to provide their NIN for registration. If you don’t have one, visit any National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) enrollment centre to register.
Valid email address
You need a functional email address to create a JAMB profile. This email will be used for all communications regarding your examination.
Phone number
A unique phone number is required for registration. This number will be linked to your JAMB profile.
Please ensure that the phone number you’ll be using belongs to someone very close to you (father or mother, if you’re below 18 years) to make retrieval easier in case of damage or loss of the SIM card. The card is your unique identifier with the Board and must not get lost at any point in time. Peradventure that happens, you should retrieve it as soon as possible because it cannot be replaced thereafter.
JAMB Profile Code
After creating your JAMB profile, you will receive a 10-digit profile code via SMS. Keep this code safe as it is required for registration.
Registration Fee
Pay the required registration fee at any approved bank or online payment platform. The fee is usually announced by JAMB.

How to register for JAMB 2026/2027
- Get a new and active phone number. This phone number should have NEVER been used for any other JAMB registration
- Get your NIN if you do not have one already. This process could take weeks, so apply on time
- Dial *55019*1*NIN# or *66019*1*NIN# on your phone
- Receive your JAMB profile code
- Purchase JAMB ePin online or in any banks in Nigeria using your profile code
- Create a new Email address. Preferably a Google email address
- Fill your Biodata form correctly. This will be used during registration
- Budget at least 5,000 Naira for this whole process
- Visit the nearest JAMB CBT center with your ePin, Bio data form, profile code and O’level result (if available). Complete your JAMB Registration
- Reprint slip when the time comes to know your exam center and date
- Write Exam
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the minimum age requirement for registering for the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) is 16 years.
To be eligible for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education for the 2025/2026 academic session, candidates must be at least 16 years old.
Some institutions may allow candidates who will turn 16 by the start of the admission process (usually around August or September 2026) to apply.
